School History
In August 1970, due to strong support from local residents and the inconvenience students faced in commuting to school, the county government approved the establishment of the "Qingxiu Branch of Minxiong Junior High School" in the remote village of Qingxiu in Minxiong Township. Initially, the school lacked proper facilities and faced difficulties in operations and funding. Thanks to contributions from local community leaders such as Mr. Lin Xiansheng and Mr. Qiu Yujun, the school gradually expanded in scale.
On August 1, 1972, the school was officially established and named “ Chiayi County Minxiong Township Qingxiu Junior High School.” The first principal, Ms. Xu Lijun, actively sought funding and support from the Ministry of Education and local officials to improve the school's infrastructure.
In 1975, Principal Chen Zhihong was appointed. During his term, he secured project funding from the provincial government and successfully completed six major construction projects.
In July 1978, Principal Zhuang Yuxiong took office, followed by Principal Lin Zhefu in the third semester. In just six months, Principal Lin focused on renovating classrooms, improving campus facilities, and standardizing operations.
In 1981, Principal Huang Wanchang took over. He introduced various educational activities, focusing on student life, moral education, and environmental beautification. The school began to gain regional recognition.
In 1984, Principal Lin Guangxu assumed leadership and emphasized administrative efficiency, academic quality, and the importance of sports. The school performed well in various county-level competitions.
In 1987, Principal Huang Guoqing led initiatives like reading groups and student clubs. He also developed life education and character-building programs. Under his leadership, the school became known for its reading and cultural programs.
In 1993, Principal Wang Yongchang emphasized innovative teaching strategies and campus landscaping, making the environment more student-friendly. His “ love and discipline ” approach to education was widely praised.
In 1995, Principal Li Zhengxian was appointed. He revised the curriculum, developed diverse teaching programs, and encouraged community involvement. Various clubs and extracurricular activities flourished under his guidance.
In February 2005, Principal Lin Yixin took charge and promoted experiential learning and environmental education. He introduced multimedia classrooms and emphasized interdisciplinary teaching methods.
In August 2006, Principal Lin Huiwen took office. She modernized the school environment and promoted holistic education, including moral, character, and life education. She introduced a warm, caring learning environment and restructured the campus layout.
In August 2007, Principal Zhang Yizhong took over. He emphasized service-oriented leadership and delegated authority. He promoted arts education and strengthened administrative efficiency.
In August 2012, Principal Wu Xiuwen was appointed. He implemented professional learning communities, digital teaching systems, and energy-saving measures to improve teaching quality.
In August 2016, Principal Wu Xiuwen continued in office and launched a school-wide project-based learning initiative. The school also promoted positive character education and values formation through a sports-themed curriculum.
In 2020, Principal Chen Yuchun assumed the post and introduced major curriculum reforms, emphasizing digital teaching, mobile learning, and environmental sustainability.
In August 2024, the current principal, Mr. Xu Zonghan, was appointed. He is actively improving school infrastructure, promoting SEE Learning, enhancing curriculum integration, and developing teacher professional development programs. With great effort from teachers and students, the school was awarded the “ Model School for Curriculum Reform ” and earned the Ministry of Education’s PowerTech Innovative Learning Award. In the nationwide education reform effort, students are thriving, and the school continues to earn recognition and praise.
